Welcome to the ancient festival of Beltane
During this night and tomorrow morning the greatest fertility Sabbath of the Celtic year takes place. Traditionally, this is the day when the priestesses bless the land and, for the common folk, this night is one long party culminating in the maiden's dance around the May Pole in the morning. This is also the season of reconciliation and a new beginning in peace.
Many of the elements of this ancient festival are still used to this day – the May fire (the party fire which is tended to burn throughout the night) with dancing, the May Pole and much, much more. You would be surprised if you researched it just how many aspects of this ancient Celtic festival are still enjoyed today.
Over the last few months we have been blessed to learn much for reconciliation, new beginnings and relief from burdens which fit very appropriately to the nature of this festival.
Thanks to several young women, including our own Jeannine and Diana, we have learned
